About Us

SkinDocSocks were designed by Dr. Jake E. Turrentine, a board-certified dermatologist, after carefully considering the challenges of wearing compression socks expressed by many friends, family, colleagues, and patients who were previously unhappy with their every day use compression socks.

The design focuses on:

1) Soft, absorbent, cushioned feet

2) Ability to wiggle the toes

3) Durable, truly graduated compression (starting in the feet and gradually decreasing on the way up the leg)

These are extremely comfortable compression socks that may provide tremendous health benefits when used regularly:

1) Faster recovery and/or improved performance after exercise (Brophy-Williams N, Driller MW, Kitic CM, Fell JW, Halson SL. Wearing compression socks during exercise aids subsequent performance. J Sci Med Sport. 2019 Jan;22(1):123-127. doi: 10.1016/j.jsams.2018.06.010. Epub 2018 Jun 19. PMID: 30554612.)

2) Reduction in leg swelling especially with prolonged standing (Garcia MG, Roman MG, Davila A, Martin BJ. Comparison of Physiological Effects Induced by Two Compression Stockings and Regular Socks During Prolonged Standing Work. Hum Factors. 2023 Jun;65(4):562-574. doi: 10.1177/00187208211022126. 3) Lower risk of complications such as ulcers in people with varicose veins (Nelson EA, Bell-Syer SE. Compression for preventing recurrence of venous ulcers.
